ALTERNATIVES: Tai Chi Help Prevent Knee Pain
Often felt pain in the knees? Tai Chi exercises on a regular basis only, especially for the elderly. According to recent studies, Tai Chi exercises can help reduce pain in the knee.

"Tai Chi is using mind-body approach turns out to be an alternative for parents who frequent knee pain," said Dr. Chenchen Wang, one of the researchers in a study published in the journal Arthritis Care & Research, November edition.

Especially in the U.S. there are an estimated 4.3 million adults over the age of 60 years who experience knee pain. Wang's research team and colleagues from Tufts University School of Medicine studied 40 patients aged around 65 years diagnosed with Calcification of the knee joint (knee osteoarthritis).

The first patient group was asked to practice Tai Chi is one hour twice a week. This exercise is carried out for three months. The second group was asked 60 minutes of exercise every week for three months.

The result, claimed the first group the pain decreased gradually. In fact, patients generally feel healthier and depression levels decreased.
